MAINE REAL ESTATE ASSOCIATE BROKER FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Maine Real Estate Associate Broker License Requirements
  • 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Notarized recommendations from at least 3 individuals stating applicant has a good reputation for truthfulness, honesty, fair dealing and competence.
  • 55 hours of pre-licensing education prior to the real estate licensing exams.
  • Employing broker of salesperson must provide a written statement authorizing the license.
  • Criminal records check.
  • Associate broker must have 2 years of active experience as a licensed sales agent in Maine during previous five years.
  • Associate brokers must take 60 hour associate broker course.
  • Brokers must be actively licensed for at least 1 year as an associate broker in Maine within the three years immediately before application.
  • Brokers must complete 2 years of an approved degree program and the Role of the Designated Broker course.
  • All applicants must pass the licensing examinations with a score of at least 75%.
