OHIO REAL ESTATE BROKER FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Ohio Real Estate Broker License Requirements
  • 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Honest, truthful and of good reputation.
  • Salesperson applicants must be sponsored by an Ohio Broker.
  • If an applicant has a felony conviction, they may be denied a real estate license.
  • Complete 120 hours of education.
  • Broker applicants must complete 240 hours of specific real estate courses and a minimum of 2 years of college. The 240 hours of real estate courses may part of the college work.
  • Broker real estate license applicants must have been actively licensed as a broker or salesperson for at least two years, including working an average of 30 hours a week for 2 of the last 5 years immediately prior to applying for the broker’s license.
  • Broker applicants must have also completed 20 real estate transactions or possess the equivalent in approved experience.
  • Pass Ohio’s state two part real estate test.
