Tennessee Real Estate Broker License Requirements

  • 18 years old.
  • 60 hours of pre-license education for affiliate brokers; 120 hours of real estate education for broker, including a 30 hours office/broker management course.
  • Tennessee real estate broker license applicants must first hold an active affiliate broker license for 36 months if licensed as an affiliate broker after May 12, 1988.
  • Applicants on parole or probation may not obtain licensure, unless 2 years have passed from the date of expiration of probation, conviction, or release from incarceration and if a license is issued, there may be 1 year probationary period. Check Commission rules for more specific information pertaining to criminal convictions.
